Welcome to Tonto Rim Sports Club/Jim Jones Shooting Range

>> Click here for Range Rules and Regulations <<

Here are a few things to know about the range:

Gate Entry:  Place  your gate card in front of the white card reader shown below to open the gate. When you exit the range, approach the gate and it will automatically open. This scanner is for "new" cards. Click here for more information about gate cards.

Sign in:  EVERY time you come to the range you MUST sign in. As you come down the road from the gate you will see the Main Range to your right. Behind the wall with the Main Range sign is the sign-in book. Every person, shooting or not, must sign in, including guests. If you have a minor with you, please check the "Minor" box next to their name.

Targets and backer boards:  At the Main Range you will find stations to prepare your targets. Targets and staplers can also be found at those stations. The cardboard backer boards will fit all target stands including those in the pistol bays.

Pistol Bays:  As you came down from the gate, if  you were to turn left, that will take you to 5 pistol bays. Please sign in first. Each pistol bay has target stands, backer boards, and targets.  There are shade structures at each bay with a fixed table to place your gear. Do not shoot from the fixed tables.  Each bay has a portable table or two for use down range to place your firearms, ammo, etc. and these tables are not to be used as target stands.  Target stands must be placed within 10' of the impact berm. Do not place target stands where your rounds might impact the side berms.

Emergencies:  Though we rarely have unfortunate incidents, here are a few things to keep in mind.

  • Fire: If there is a rouge bullet that impacts anything other than the impact berm there is a potential for fire. Shooting at rocks or anything other than an authorized target is prohibited.  Please make note of the water/fire extinguishers stationed throughout the range.
  • First Aid: There are some supplies located at the Main Range by the sign in book. Pistol Bay 1 also has a large red box of first aid supplies.
  • 911/Location of range: At the Main Range, on the orange job box, and posted at Pistol Bay 1 is the exact location of the range.

For reference to the range layout, please refer to the Range Map here.

Subject to special events or closures, generally all the above ranges are available to Members on a first come first serve basis, 24-hours a day and 7-days a week.  Other than checking the online calendar, it is a good idea to call the Range Hotline (928)970-1766 to ensure that it is open.

FIRE SEASON:  It is always fire season at the Range. Fire supplies are distributed throughout the Range property. If you see a fire call 911 immediately and, if the fire is on Range Property, please work to contain the spread. If you are the last one at the Range, check to make sure all areas are clear.
